The upcoming 2013 Honda Accord production prototype was recently caught on camera, and for many people, caused a bit of confusion. The vehicle was covered in automotive camouflage, despite being revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show earlier this year. This caused a stir among many critics and consumers, with many people wondering, Why?

At this point in time, we do have new information that might help fill in the holes for many of you.  The new shots that were taken were not of the 2013 Honda Accord, as we previously thought. before. Instead, we were looking at the 2013 Honda Accord Plug-In.

The shots that were taken of the Accord featured what at first glance appeared to be a gasoline tank in front of the driver door. Given the fact that the actual gas tank is clearly where it belongs in the shot (in back of the left passenger door), it is clear that what we're actually looking at is a covered electrical plug. Previously, there was some speculation that the Accord Plug-In might not be released at the same time as its pure-gasoline counterpart. However given this recent turn of events, it would be hard to argue otherwise. The fact that Honda is already doing road tests with this new model is, without question, a good sign.
