Standard Transmission on the New Honda CR-Z

We have seen a vicious comeback by Manual transmission vehicles, either to save fuel, for the simplicity, or cost  (since automatics tend to be hundreds, even thousands of dollars more).

Regardless of why, Honda is now offering stick shift variants of their new vehicles, including the 2012 Honda CR-Z, already one of the greenest coupes that have ever been produced. They continue to offer the manual transmission for other popular vehicles including the Civic, and Accord.

Honda offers the CR-Z reboot to dealerships including Honda Superstore of Lisle, in Lisle. But we encourage everyone in Illinois tocome in and test drive this two-door!

CR-Z's hybrid powertrain connects a 1.5 liter 16-valve iVTEC engine to a 10kW electric motor. This is just one use of Honda's state-of-the-art IMA technology.

Inside, low resting seats and a high arching rear give optimal cargo space and leg room, which is uncommon for a car this size. Catering towards tech savvy riders who still want a manual for any of the numerous reasons mentioned above, CR-Z comes fully ready to support the following:

  • MP3 and USB
  • Six-speaker audio system
  • Bluetooth phone connectivity
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Cruise control.
  • Two modes of driving (Econ and Sport)

Don't take our word, though, hear what The Motor Report has to say: "The manual, at $34,990 - a full $6000 less than the Luxury CVT model - is exceptional value; that's why we awarded it an additional half-star."1
